Line art

This stage produces the line art on a layer above the faded sketch.

1. Prepare the layers

In the Layers panel:

1. Select Hide layer (the eye) on the Color rough row.
2. Select Sketch and set Layer opacity in the panel header to 22.
3. Select New layer at the bottom of the panel, and rename the new layer Line art.

The layer list reads Line art, Sketch at 22%, Color rough (hidden), and Paper.

2. Ink the outlines

Select Pen in the Tools toolbar and the G-Pen brush in Tool Set (Brush tools), and set Brush size to 4.5 px. On Line art, trace the three outlines, then the scribbles and hatch marks.

To correct a line, press Ctrl+Z to undo the stroke, or press E and erase with the Eraser.

You can turn the view while you ink. Choose View > Rotate view 90° left or View > Rotate view 90° right, or select the rotate buttons in the Navigator panel. In Paint, the Navigator icon is at the right of the window.

For any angle, rotate two fingers on the canvas, or type the angle in the zoom readout’s menu at the right end of the footer. Reset rotation in that menu returns the view to 0° (Viewing the canvas).
