Transformations

Move, scale, and rotate

Transform a layer or a selected region. Scaling changes its dimensions; rotation changes its angle. Constrain proportions to preserve the width-to-height ratio.

Distortion

Skew, perspective, and free transformation change the relationship between corners or edges. Flipping reverses the image content horizontally or vertically. These operations modify the document, unlike rotating or mirroring the canvas view.

Resampling

Transforms may resample pixels. Repeated scaling and rotation can reduce sharpness. Retain an untransformed copy when further revisions are expected.
