Brush tip and stroke
The brush tip defines the shape of each dab. Spacing controls the distance between dabs. Rotation, scatter, and texture change how dabs are placed and how they deposit color.
Opacity and flow
Opacity controls stroke transparency. Flow controls the amount of color deposited by individual dabs. Their interaction determines how overlapping marks accumulate. Blending and color pickup control interaction with existing paint.
Input dynamics
Pressure, tilt, and stroke speed can drive parameters such as size, opacity, and rotation. A response curve maps the input value to the parameter value. Test each parameter with a consistent stroke when editing a preset.
